Top notch photographer, and friend of the Arts Council Donald Camp has a show of dynamic portraits of New Orleanians opening at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts. Donald visited with us last year in preparation for this show, and we're thrilled to see it come about. If you happen to find yourself in his nieghborhood, check it out!

New Post Production Facility in the Quarter

An intriguing and gothic old mansion on Esplanade Ave is coming back as a post-production facility of Seven Arts Pictures. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Presidential Candidates on the Arts

As we enter the home stretch on the presidential campaign, it's a good time to see where the two candidates stand on the arts. Here's a link to Barack Obama's arts policies. Highlights include easing the visa policies for touring artists, supporting the fair market value tax deduction for artists donating their work, and a new (to me) idea of creating an "Artist Corps" of young artists trained to work in low-income schools and their communities.

I'd link to John McCain's Arts Policies, but, it doesn't appear he has one. Nothing is posted on his site, nor in the 2008 Repulican Party platform.

All non-profit folks should definitely attend. Here's the link for more info.
